Review of Jennifer Blake’s Seduced by Grace

★★★★ A romance novel unlike any I’ve read, and I’ve read MANY.  Jennifer Blake dazzled me with her creativity with this very unique “what if” premise.  What first surprised me was the relationship between hero and heroine.  I thought, after reading the first chapter, that heroine Lady Marguerite was meeting the infamous Golden Knight for the first time, but apparently, she and David have a history.  And though they met when they were young, their passion runs hot and true.  David’s made a vow to protect Marguerite, and not to touch her.  This promise serves as the major source of conflict and, let me tell you, it is incredibly frustrating.  Though the writing is excellent, scene and setting different from the other Jennifer Blake novels I’ve read to date, this major plot point is tedious and accounts largely for why it took me so long to finish the story.  There is, however, an amazing twist in the final quarter, and this is where it really gets good.  I assure you, I didn’t see it coming.  The revelation made a challenging read worthwhile and very, very satisfying.
