★★★ The best was saved for last, and by this, I mean, that the best scenes in Loving Her Cowboys came at the end of the book, as seems to be the way with Jan Springer’s Cowboys Online Series. Unlike the first 2 books in the series, this one reads more like the next episode of a TV show, with 2 light and essentially unrelated plots, one centered around heroine JJ, who suffers from major PTSD, learning to fly a plane, the other focused on Rafe, one of JJ’s 3 cowboy heroes getting attacked by wolves and suffering with some PTSD of his own. While the men all express their disapproval of JJ flying planes initially, Rafe is rescued by his friends but basically deals with his trauma on his own. It all comes together in one very hot scene at the end which woke me up and made me glad I kept reading. JJ’s got a special connection with 1 particular cowboy, I noticed it from the beginning, so it came as little surprise to me (though a very good surprise) when she asks him to do something life changing. Though JJ eludes she will ask the same of her other men when the time is right, I can’t help but think she holds the most special place for the man she asks first. Great descriptions and imagery of beautiful northern Canada. The ending is sweet and incredibly satisfying.
